There are many factors irrelevant with the school itself that have significant impact on the academic achievement of students.

What I would like to do in this article is to go through them and make some recommendations on how to handle them in order to have the desired outcome which of course is the best possible marks  for students.

These factors fall in two main categories:

a) Health: There is no doubt about the importance of this one in the success of everyone. Healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, seeds, grains, nuts and beans is very important. Exercise (preferably outdoors if the weather allows) 1.5-2 hours per day in average and drink a lot of water. This way you will be able to maintain a healthy weight and strong immune system which is very important specifically during exam periods when you will be under a lot of stress.

Embrace nature; try as much as you can to study under the day light. Arrange your study desk in such a way where you can view the mother nature where this is possible. Is not a random fact that the overwhelming majority of schools and university campuses are built in areas where nature is significantly present.

b) Entertainment: As with athletes the life outside the field is as important as the one inside the field for peak performance. How you manage your free time has a big impact on your school progress. Try to spend an hour per day with your immediate family where this is possible.  Spent the same amount of time socializing with friends that share common interests and goals with you. Do not spend more than two hours per day in front of your TV set or a PC (except if you are studying). Avoid watching reality shows and movies. There are full of plain prostitutes that self claim to be TV personas, actresses, singers, etc.  Also a lot of "tough" guys acting as patriots fighting for "freedom", "human rights", etc. but who never shot a bullet in a real war. All these immoral people promote the worse of humanity and at the same time becoming multimillionaires. You are not only waisting your time, you are also poisoning your soul.

Comedies and non violent sports are strongly recommended. Avoid listening to cheap music or reading gossip magazines. They are harmful for your mental health and an insult to your intelligence. The majority of news stations too are nothing else than propaganda machines with only interest to maintain the status quo.

These small suggestions if implemented will have a huge impact on your academic success. You might be able to increase your marks  by as much as 30%. There are supported by a lot of educational research, but above all it is the natural thing to do.
